Swale Borough Council & £35,000

The recent controversy over Swale Borough Council’s decision to spend £35,000 on a postal ballot paper asking whether the Rates should increase does want to make me cringe with despair over the hypocrisy of the whole thing. Here we have politicians moaning about spending a piddling amount of money when billions are being wasted by the European Union yet every time I write a letter trying to draw attention to the corruption etc in the EU it never gets printed! Before Christmas I sent out 500 letters to various newspapers, local politicians, MP’s, MEP’s etc I quoted many things I had read and asked the question “ why do we need the EU” and you guessed it not a single response.
What has this do with the £35,000 simple ballot/consultation paper was done at the behest of Tony Blair government to try and convince the public that they are being consulted, this is just another Gimmick since he and his cronies have taken power the EU have gained more and more power. The EU with the help of Tony Blair are creating a Political Elite who not need the public to survive. The EU Dictatorship will soon be a reality and Swale Borough Councillors worry about £35,000!!!
I was away when the news broke about the Coniston being taken over as a transit camp for asylum seekers and what struck me most was that that our MP, Swale Borough Council, local councillors new in the Autumn about this but what about the people who live in Sittingbourne have we a right to know what is happening in our Town? I wrote a letter in July 2002 about how many refugees were appearing in the town only to be told by a local Labour Councillor that there were no refugees and Sittingbourne would not become a centre for refugees, well this news now vindicates me. Of course the official speak will be that they are only here for a few days HA, HA you mark my words more and more houses will become occupied by these so called asylum seekers.
The blame for this must lay at the Labour government who have made it to easy for these unwelcome guests to be allowed into the country and more importantly the European Union who have deliberately pushed the Asylum Seekers into the UK.
These latest band of immigrants are nothing but opportunists who want to take advantage of our ridiculous Benefits laws, the see the UK a land of milk and honey where others have to work to support them. Compare them with the Asians and West Indians who came over 30 years ago, these were UK passport holders, they new about our customs and were prepared to work hard to become part of our culture, they did not need hand outs.
The effect of the Coniston being turned into a transit camp will be dramatic; it is the only large hotel in Sittingbourne a town without a hotel how does that in courage business man, new investors, tourists to the Town. I am running a major international Judo event in May where do I send the Foreign players, what of all the weddings and other functions that have been booked, where do the guests stay, already shop keepers are complaining about this wave of immigrants causing problems in there shops, elderly people are becoming intimidated by them and only last week trouble flared up at a house occupied by 4 young immigrants and one was arrested. Sittingbourne is on the slippery slide to becoming a sink town where all the Governments rubbish can be dropped.
I do not particularly blame the hotel owner for trying to make some easy money but if the Council and our MP knew in the Autumn why did they not make some incentive to the owner not to change into a reception centre, before any one can say can not be done can I remind you about Sittingbourne F C.
To finalise throughout the Christmas period the Salvation Army were advertising for donations to help the homeless, yet our government were giving top quality hotel accommodation to asylum seekers says something about Britain Today.
