Letter from Japan on the EU
Dear Editor June 27th 2002
A letter appeared in your letters page from Jeremy Fox, Yokohama, Japan, is this gentleman from Swale or is this just a circular sent round to all newspapers? Surely the purpose of a local newspaper is for local people to have their say, not unknowns with their own political agenda if he is local I apologise. With regard to Adolf Hitler murdering millions in the name of patriotism he ought to check his history Hitler murdered people because of his POLITICAL Beliefs ie NATIONAL SOCIALISM, STALIN done it in the name of COMMUNISM both hounded True Patriotism by re-inventing it to coincide with their particular twisted politician ideology. Because of I my involvement in the Martial Arts especially Japanese arts I have a lot of dealings with the Japanese and their culture and I agree they are very courtess but they are very patriotic and believe they are superior to all other races, is that so wrong to have total faith in your countryman, surely that is an English trait? How many immigrants do the Japanese allow in to their country? I always like it when some one who does not live in this country tells us what to believe in and how to run our affairs.
The European Union and the Government is very much like the Communists and Nazi’s no I do not mean killing people but in the way they define patriotism if you believe in what they are saying and doing, you are good patriot, if you do not you are a right wing thug. The incident over flying the CROSS OF ST GEORGE is considered advertising plus may be perceived as racist therefore considered illegal for TAXI drivers Yet a national flag is not considered advertising ie the UNION FLAG (rightly so) but did you know that the Flag of the European Union (Blue with Gold Stars) is considered as our National Flag as well. So you can be a European Patriot but not an English one. Just to finish on a happy note the EU are in the process of removing the publics freedom to take commonly-used vitamins and mineral supplements.
