IS GORDON
HENDERSON OUR NEXT MP
Saturday, 01 November 2003
Dear Editor
Former LibDem Parliamentary candidate and new Labour Councillor Roger Truelove statement that Tony Blair’s government is getting the country together, beggars belief. All of us can see the 60 taxes rises, massive increases in Council Tax, Railway system on the verge of collapse, our Health Service in the worst condition it has ever been in, the drive to push us into a United States of Europe, minister’s lying I could go on and on.
The only alternative to what must be the worst government in living memory is the Conservative Party but even they could not get their act together and it looked, as we would be stuck with Roger Trueloves government. I am pleased to see there is some light at the end of the Tunnel, Conservative MP’s voted to get rid of IDS, I might say against the wishes of the majority of ordinary Conservative members. When we were all expecting a horrific leadership battle, which would have cost the Conservative’s the next election and from then on we would become just a province of a United States of Europe. An act of sanity appeared from the blue the Conservatives selected Michael Howard in just a few days as leader of the Party.
A second piece of good news was that local man Gordon Henderson was selected by Sittingbourne & Sheppey Conservative Association to be our Parliamentary Candidate. Gordon has been a local councillor for many years, lives in the area as does his parents, he knows what Sittingbourne & Sheppey people want and needs. He is also not frightened to say what he feels he is a man of the people who wants to become an MP and serve the people not a career politician who is dropped in and only wants to serve himself and his party.
So things are looking up for the people of Sittingbourne & Sheppey and the whole of Britain, now we have a chance of saving our Country for our children and ourselves.
