Dear Editor
Two of my pet hates have been cyclists and the European Union. Cyclists because the majority of them think they are above the law, they ride on the paths, ride in pedestrian precincts, ride the wrong way up one way streets, at night they ride without lights and when confronted with their wrong doings they give you a lot of abuse, they are a bunch of selfish, inconsiderate abusive louts for those cyclists who abide by the law I apologise and congratulate them for not lowering their standards. The European Union is a Bureaucratic, Corrupt, Dictatorship.
A recent report has confirmed my worst fears that the two are league with each other, I refer to the plans being drawn up by the European Commission.
This is a plan where motorists will have to take out extra insurance for injuries suffered by pedestrians and cyclist, this in its self is not such a bad idea. The only problem is that the motorcar driver will be considered guilty of causing an accident involving a cyclist or a pedestrian, no matter what the circumstances. So motorist hit a cyclists at night, who has just bumped of the pavement, coming up the wrong way up a one way street without lights and you will be in for a heavy insurance claim. It is calculated that this will cost an extra £50 a year on your Insurance.
It is rather funny when failed politicians who keep telling us they are in public life as a sense of duty and not for the money, take Neil Kinnock European Commissioner it is reported that he earns £139,000 basic salary per year and since 1999 he has been awarding himself a bonus of £29,800 a total of £168,800 or £3,246.15p per week. Oh I forgot he also has a lavish expense account. Mr Kinnock like the rest on the EU gravy train must be really suffering.
Yours Faithfully
