Dear Editor
Once again Small businesses and large one have been hit by yet another tax. CCL or climate change levy I presume this is something our government has agreed with other countries. On a £1300 the CCL is £79.34.
Can I ask our MP Derek Wyatt why is it that only business has to pay this? Are the public as whole excluded because it may cost the government’s vote? What happens to the money raised by the CCL? How much goes on beurocracy?
I think even Mr Wyatt will agree that is a Tax so how come we have to pay a further 17.5% VAT on the tax. The actual cost is not £79.34 but £93.22. Even the Sheriff of Nottingham could not have invented a means of taxing some one on their Taxes. It seems that this government enjoys taxing businesses, for business will get the blame for passing on the price increases. Mind you as one New Labour supporter said to me the people of this country gave this government a mandate to do what ever they want and I should shut up and pay my taxes no matter what they are. Some how I do not think that will happen.
